Bio

Hi! My name is Aurora Snyder and I am currently finishing up a BA in Arts and Technology from UT Dallas. Before moving to Richardson to pursue my degree, I was born and raised in Austin, TX.

IMG_9467I started my undergrad with a desire to learn 3D animation but quickly changed my mind once I took my first sound design class. I fell in love with recording and editing sound and decided to fill my degree with audio-related classes.

I’ve always been a music lover so I leaned into this shift in my degree. I decided to join UTD’s Radio Station to learn even more about the modern music and audio scene. After training as an audio tech, I was granted a DJ position and hosted my own variety show called Aural Pleasures. On top of meeting new friends, Radio UTD also exposed me to more audio technologies and helped me explore myself through music.

I am open-minded and have cultivated a deep appreciation and admiration for anyone pursuing their passions. Creative inspiration can grow from anywhere, even darkness. I like to be open and honest about my relationship with mental illness to avoid perpetuating the associated stigma. The resulting uncensored conversations have inspired many of my creative adventures, even a few featured in my portfolio. I will continue to talk freely about mental illness and to serve as an advocate for this community.

I am very close to my family and I live for my friends. I am a nature lover and avid rock collector. In my free time time I like to play ukulele and guitar, sketch, paint with watercolor, and hang out with my cat, Steve. My summer included recovering from ACL repair surgery and moving to Denton with one of my closest friends. Don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing me at aurorasnyder15@gmail.com.
